Here you can download the source codeos sample projects for a better understanding.
Before you download anything there are a few instructions you should follow so that you donot end up getting errors in your eclipse.
1) Download the Zip File.
2) Extract it to the liferay-sdk folder. The folder where you have configured your Liferay SDK
3) If it is a portlet , then put it under liferay-sdk/portlers folder , if it is a hook , put it under liferay-sdk/hooks folder.
4) Open Eclipse --> New Liferay Project --> Select from an existing liferay-sdk project --> Import it into Eclipse and then browse
5) Also Make sure that you run the service builder before deploying the application.
